Guest Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 subsonic cuts off frequencies lower than where its set. lpf cuts off frequencies higher than where its set. if there is nothing under 30, and nothing over 35, then only 31, 32, 33, and 34hz are playing with no attenuation.

CJSmith Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 have you pulled the woofers out to make sure you dont havea ny wires touching the basket. Ive had that happen too. You also could have an alt going bad as well. ive seen taht happen too. Not to thread jack, but did you say a bad alt can put an amp into protect? Cause i was running my stock alt on my system and my amp never shut off (even though i only turned my gain up until i dropped to 13v) but 2 weeks ago, I bought a used Mechman 300 alt from a guy and now every time I turn my head unit up, my amp goes in to protect. Sometimes at around 13.4v and some songs I can play down into 12.9v. Is there a possibility my alt is bad? Thanks N8. *Rebuid in progress*

Guest Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 subsonic is supposed to be set a few hertz below what your box is tuned at. the general rule of lpf is around 80-100hz.
