SnowDrifter
I just got back from the auto store getting ready to change the oil. The filter they gave me is smaller, but the threads and the position of the gasket of the same. The guy there assures me that it is fine - that it is the same on the inside, but just has a different casing. But I am still a bit iffy about putting such a smaller filter on. Keith77
Thats the filter I come up with too. You are cool! Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born. My penis is bigger than your penis I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

bassface
Yup filters for the same vehicle come in many different sizes, as long as the threads and gasket are the same size it doesnt matter about the case.
fox_racin4
Smaller filter will usually give more oil pressure as well Which is always good 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
Captain Stupid
Yep, you're good. You should see how small the oil filter on my race car is. Probably about the same size as the smaller one pictured and cleans a 10 quart system at 8500+ rpm and 700 all-motor horsepower. Captain Stupid
Smaller filter will usually give more oil pressure as well Which is always good Wrong. If the oil filter has any effect on your oil pressure, you have a bigger issue. That's like saying a larger ANL fuse will give your amp more wattage. A larger fuse might allow more to flow through it, but it won't increase anything downstream. Same concept with an oil filter. 2006 Cadillac Escalade 2/3 drop on 28" wheels Two RE SX 18" subs RF T2500-1bdCP amp, 3531watts on birthsheet Custom carbon fiber sub box EVERYTHING else is stock, for now 149.4 @ 37hz, Termlab, dash, open window on two AQ3 18s all stock electrical, wired to .25 ohm on a RF T2500 148.8 @ 36hz, Termlab, dash, open window on one AQ3 18 all stock electrical, wired to .5 ohm on a RF T2500 147.8 @ 38hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on two RE SX 18s 146.4 @ 36hz, Termlab, legal, sealed on one RE SX 18 Link to my hack-built, stupid, carbon fiber wasting project.... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/149946-carbon-fiber-box-update-1494db-37hz-on-tl/ http://gifsoup.com/NDM3MTc1MQ

Every change, every 4.5k Depending on what type of oil you run (I'd recommend full synthetic AMSOIL, Royal Purple, Mobil, or Castrol) (in that order), you can go 10k no problem.
