Other place's here in town are outrageously expensive. Anyway's back to the point.... What brand's would you guy's recommend checking into?

BassHead1990 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 I think that something that you need to research as a business owner. When you buy into brand with a company, you need a contract with either another vender that sell their product or the manufacturer themselves, sometime they may want full price for their product, even in bulk and so you have no choice but sell to make a profit. I would call.email around and get an idea would is willing to work with you first. IMO. Captain Stupid Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Anything that isn't easily available online would be a good start. Maybe search out companies that allow you to buy at prices that could enable you to compete with online pricing. And any industry leaders/household names that sell well. Differentiate yourself from the competition by selling the brands or product lines the others don't carry. And for the love of god, have agod damn working demo room. Every car audio shop around here either has a room with non-working crap and wires all hanging out of holes, or they have just crap in there. Before I would ever pay a shop to build a box for me, I would like to see that they could actually build a box for their own demo room. ChevyBoy95 Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 You are going to want some lower level stuff for the majority who come in and just want budget sound systems. Planet audio, hifonics, mb quart, etc. I would only do sundown scendo and others like it once you know the typical customer base for the area. bre2ts Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 yea you should definately come up with a business plan. especially if you are going to take a loan out to start the company... but hey if you are rich enough to fund it your self you should still probably have a business plan Feedback 1 | Feedback 2 you win some, you lose some
addictedtoaudioandcustoms Posted September 16, 2012 Author Report Posted September 16, 2012 I have been in contact with only one company. I will not be taking a loan out if all goes well. The reason I was actually wanting most of the brands I chose was because they aren't as common locally and online. This will give me hopefully a good chance of keeping customers from buying online. All the brand's i am looking at carrying have pricing that I find very reasonable for a customer as they have "entry level" product's as well as higher end product's.I also, have sent message's to a few of these company's and am waiting for them to contact me back. This is why I decided to post this to get more opinion's.
Guest Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 RE lol. people over there might not take your shop seriously unless you carry kicker (which is sad) have you thought about buying huge spools of welding wire on ebay? i think the guys name is coppercableman. i hear lots of people buy from him. wire is good, its just not as flexible as knukonceptz, fosgate, etc.
Quiet Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 If you're in it to make money, the obligatory JL Audio is a must. If you're in it because you love car audio, good luck to you, sir. Not trying to rain on your parade, but the reason you see those other shops doing what they do and selling what they sell is because that's what it takes to stay afloat. The jackholes you will be selling to are going to beat you down on price and badmouth you for it... and they'll want max bang for minimum buck. Name will matter more than quality, ("I got 2 L7 15s who the fuck ever heard of DC Audio") plan to do a lot of prefab boxes, learn your metra part numbers, and hire cheap (read: inexperienced) labor. And what the hell is wrong with RE, Kranny??? 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.
