inm
I finally got around to ripping my dash apart so I could run my RCAs and remote wire, but ran into a bit of a dilemma. My headunit only had one RCA for Subwoofer output.... Do I just use one side of the RCA? Or do I need to get a y-adapter? Something completely different? Thank in advance. HatersGonnaHate
I ran into that problem in my home theater system.... My receiver only has 1 sub out, so I put a y-adapter in and ran them both straight to my car audio amp. Worked just fine, so I'd imagine it should work the same from a head unit to an amp. inm
Just use one. Assuming it's a mono amp, if you use a y-adapter, you'll be splitting the signal only to have it re-combined inside the amp. This is where my mind was going and made the most sense, just thought I would see what others say. If I feel like something is "missing" then I'll go back and use a splitter. Thanks guys On 2/28/2013 at 2:52 PM, Chaise said: "Now spread your butt cheeks so I can zap your asshole." 2008 Subaru Forester XT
Rockbrook
my headunit is like that too, only has the one rca for sub output, I just uused a y-adapter, but are you guys saying using one side of the rca's is the way to do it? HatersGonnaHate
I don't think that using just one side of the RCA will work. An amp has a left side and right side input, so if you only use one of those inputs, you'll only be seeing partial signal. Miakehl
I'd think running a single RCA would look funny but I'm the type that has to have a pair of everything.
