if the condition is good on the HDC3 tell him u can get right from the site for 280. an that u would give him 200 cash for it. an if he takes it, i believe the hdc3 will take about 1500-1750 rms safely if its good clean power.

Well I have two 15" 9500's right now I just want something to put in there while I'm building a box and can possibly sell and make some money off of. So just looking at some cheaper options on Craigslist. Thanks for the advice on the price and shipping though.

IIRC the older SX models had the surround (for lack of technical vocabulary) glued to the underside of the cone, right? I thought the newer models had the surround attached to the top of the cone. Could be wrong, though.

I thought the newer models are called SXX? Isn't an SX the older model?

PS. I absolutely LOVE my RE 18" SX subs. Great sound quality and handles all the power my RF T2500 can throw at the pair. 1700watts at best, but probably closer to 1400-1500 watts each. Nice daily sub and hits HARD!

If it's the newer SEx you can get you can do better. I got 2 12" SEx's and a sealed box for under $200. So for one it's way overpriced

i dont know why plp talk down on the new re audio lines, i had 2 srx 12s on 2000-.1 ppi sedona and was doing 145+ db in prefab box on the TL. and with 4ga wire and all stock batt and alt. and them subs would take over powering the rms and they still lasted a year on 1000rms a sub when they are rated for 300rms a sub. i think if u get a set of re audio subs new or old and power them in the right way u would love them. also they were $330 with free ship online for the pair.

Well its sounding like I'm getting mixed opinions. For people that say the older model is better, what makes it that much better than the newer model?

I know most of the people who currently run REs, like REs. And those that talk bad about them don't run them, but used to or know someone else who used to. So I guess you'll just have to decide for yourself. I think it's strictly a build-quality issue that I have heard others complain about. It certainly isn't power handling or sound quality. I've never heard anyone complain about their musical sound qualities, and I know there are quite a few people including myself pushing them way over their RMS rating. I plan to see how my SX 18s handle burps at 3200+ watts each, once I get a second RF T2500. I'm not expecting them to live long, but I guess we'll see.
