jesus mejia
i decided to make some a pillars for a 79 monte carlo...sadly i didnt really get to enjoy the pillars since i sold it like a week after i was done with the pillars i want to post this up for other noobs at fiberglassing like my self and hopefully help others out this is the car since i coulnt find some good solid junk yard pillars i used the ones i had whic were sun driend had some big cracks and some of the edges were eaten up this are the rings i made i only used this chepo jigsaw and this drill and a stedy hand lol mocking up the rings and gluing them into place it was a lil harder than i thought getting the angles i wanted but finaly got it to were i was happy whith it after that i took off the pillars and glued them and fleeced them it was hard not to get wrinkles on them but i managed to get them good and thight then it was time to resin them up i used us composites resin then i sanded it down and i was a lil disapointed since one of the staples poped out and a small wrinkle formed at the corner but it wasent a big wrinkle but still i like my thing to look at lest decent not slopy then finaly it was time for fiberglassing i used 3/4oz Chopped Strand Mat i got from us composites i just wigged it cuz i didnt know what thickness to get i only put two codes i also put a layer of glass around the pod because there were hair line crack throughout the whole pillar so it didnt crack on me later down the road after a while more sanding i mocked them up in the car to see that everything was fitting good on both the pillars on the corners they were missing huge chunks of plastic so i tapped it up and made a lil mold of to fill in the corner heres a pic of bothe of them and how they looked ofter the trim i was very pleased with the outcome the bottomm corners were also glassed and trim time for the body filler i used bondo since it was a small project and figguer i didnt need nothing to fancy ...big mistake it was hard as hell to work with it just play sucked donky balls.....first coat after two more coats and some tlc on the corner that the staple came of i primed them and they look pretty darn good i used a simi texture dark gray olmost black color to paint then an man they look really good i used a set of comonent cadence speakes heres how they looked in the car i was very happy and they sounded great i hope this helps other guys out there looking to do some a pillars just take your time and dont rush things and it will show at the end..... any advisse or suggestions greatly appriciated thaks for looking

CarAudioFab
Looking good man, a few tips to save you some time if you plan to do this again: Try and pick up a router, and get a rabbiting bit and a flush trim bit. With the flush trim you can make both pieces exactly the same, with the rabbiting bit you can create a "ledge" to staple your fleece too. Either way for being so fresh you did a great job! -Mark Host of "CarAudioFabrication" - YouTube Car Audio Tutorial Channel Check out my forum section here on SMD for my builds and tutorial videos!
