According to The Plain-Dealer, the cell phone video was shot on the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority's bus number 2902. A verbal confrontation between the driver and woman escalated to the physical altercation. An unedited video was first posted on WorldStarHipHop.com, including explicit language and violence. During the argument, the male driver leaves his seat while the bus is stopped and hits the female passenger with an uppercut before tossing her from the bus. The woman returned to the bus, and the pair continued to fight until other riders intervened. The brawl ended when the driver finally left the bus. The video was a trending topic on Twitter on Friday morning, with tweets linking to the clip being shared with #uppercut as a hashtag. RTA officials told The Plain-Dealer they first saw the video on Thursday, but they believe the incident took place on September 18. "Upon identifying the driver, he was immediately suspended and removed from duty," RTA spokeswoman Mary Shaffer said in a statement. "His behavior is absolutely unacceptable. RTA apologizes to our customers for this incident." According to WKYC, the driver has not been identified pending an investigation. The name of the rider has not been released, either.
