Although you might not ever need that much, at least you know you CAN have it if you want it. Most LOC's distort no matter what the voltage is. You might run into problems if you use a cheap brand. Some of the higher end ones are probably good...only one way to tell. I used to have those cheap little high low distortion converters lol and replaced them with an audiocontrol lc6i that was much better but now I'm getting the smd hlc-2 to replace my lc6i. Quote

With stock HU's becoming more Intergrated to the entire vechicle, sometimes theres no choice but to keep it. I had to on my ride. I think the timing is great. There's another thread on here somewhere where Steve states that the costs compared to the demand doesn't even out.
