Wanting to be louder when sealed up

Recommended Posts

So winter is setting in and I have noticed how much quieter the bass is when the truck is all sealed up.

Can I solve this by building a new enclosure?

Or do I need more motor force and power?

Im saying, windows down..acoustics ftw, it slams pretty damn hard for 500w amp. I'm really impressed with it.

But windows up its sad, like the extension and fullness just isn't there.

Any ideas?

4cuft net slot port, 35hz

Subs forward, port vertical towards passenger side, pushed all the way to driver side has yielded best sound.

Ok so here is a suggestion subs up/port side:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 34.5 Hz

Vb = 4 ft^3

External Height = 19 in

External Width = 40 in

External Depth = 15 in

Port Width = 13 1/2 in

Port Height = 4 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.

* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 40 x 15

Left & Right Sides =

Side 1 = 12 3/4 x 13 1/2

Side 2 = 16 3/4 x 13 1/2

Front & Back = 40 x 16 3/4

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

21 3/4 x 13 1/2

Assembly guide (generic dimensions):

2xSUPSC.jpg

4" of clearance in front of the port.

Any changes, comments or questions let me know.

Heres my box, and I'm willing to try new seen before new equipment because the time isn't right to spend on new woofers and amps yet.

Haha, I've been runnin passenger window down and high heat now that its starting to get colder out. Bass sounds much better with at least one window down
