amp projecting buzzing noise to sub

Recommended Posts

whats up so recently i swappped out my kicker 450 amp for a REFURBISHED soundstream rubicon 800.1 now whats happening is when i first turn on my wifes scion tc the sub pops i read about that and heard its no biggiie now when the cars rpm goes to roughly 1500 i hear noise like if someones messing with the rcas that noise comes and goes now what i noticed is my amp which has in internal fan seems to be projecting the fan noise or buzzing noise into the sub thus when i disconnect the sub from amp the sub noise goes away i was reading maybe i have a bad fan i tested my ground and its getting 12.7 with the car off so im guessing the ground is ok im really thinking this amp i got might have problems internally the bass works the sub hits and all any suggestions what might be happening? oh and another note with the rcas disconnected from the amp the buzzing noise still comes from the amp going to the sub

Try grounding your RCAs at the head unit, as well as grounding the head unit itself

We need to meet up tomorrow and take a look at it so I can better diagnose it but I knew something was wrong with the amp when you first told me how it arrived. I knew it would give you problems. We can try the RCA grounding but I doubt that's the issue considering this is a stock HU and this wasn't happening with the Kicker amp. I want to listen and try a few things and rule out all scenario's before you send it back. I never had this issue with any of my SS amps so I am thinking bad amp but I could be wrong it could be a simple fix...we shall see.

Shit I rather just return it you guys are forgetting that with no rca connected to the amp and the amp on you hear a signal noise coming from the sub so something from the amp is projecting that noise to my sub
