Alpine 9886 iPod connection issue

Recommended Posts

I know on some older alpines, they have issues connecting with newer iPods via USB.

But when I plug in my iPod classic (not sure what gen), the deck says error. iPod screen says its connected.

Now when I plug my iPad 3 into the USB, nothing shows up n the iPad but the deck says "iPod error".

I don't really have anything else to try on the deck. Any ideas guys?

Thanks

Two outputs are on the back of the deck, one output for a USB and one for the auxillary cable. I used my apple cable that's always worked.

And the auxillary cable works just fine.

I had a similar problem on my alpine CDA-124 I had to reset the iPod then it worked. I thought it was the deck I just bought so I took it back they gave me a new one and it did the same thing I too have an 80gb classic I believe it's menu and middle button pressed at the same time for 5 seconds..

Jeff,

When I had my 9884 in the car, it would give me the same problem with my itouch 4.

But I'd reset it and it would work.

It's not a charging issue this time, just a reading device issue.
