Bump4life
i like all the specs. especially with the 10s i like to stick closer to 36 hz tuning to protect them. i feel with a little larger subs you can get away with tuning higher since the suspensions are more forgiving. personally I wouldnt make this so complicated. did you calculate all the kerfs and what not? thats a pretty big part of your port. dont want your specs to be too far off after you build., and the v in the back of port is un neccessary. I made the radius of the kerf what the radius of the port was, if that's not how to do it, that I'm gonna have to re-calculate some things real quick. I'll also definitely be taking that V out. the_garynator
looks wicked! Interested to see how it turns out! Only thing I can really comment on as far as tuning goes is that I love my enclosure that's tuned to 36hz. Granted it is a DC Audio Level 5 M1 15" in a completely different car, but regardless, it's a good compromise in my case. It destroys the lows but still has enough in her to get pretty wild on the higher frequencies, although it's not as impressive over 50hz being that I have the LPF set at 60hz. With it off it's better, but I start to have voltage issues when I'm running it full tilt (amp pulls a lot more current up top, I'm thinking the impedance rise drops) so I just cross it at 60hz. I have 8 8" woofers in a sealed box behind my front seat that have the high pass set to 60hz so I still get a decent amount of punch higher up. ear2ear
My radius is 2.25 inches on that kerf. I drew a top view of your box based on your Torres screenshot. I assumed the 24" depth did not include your 3rd baffle reccess layer. Sorry for the low res. AutoCad sucks for getting a JPG down to 800x600. I can email you a lot higher res JPG or PDF... TylerParrish
If you make the kerf the size of the radius, it should be 2.25, not 1/2 that. ear2ear
Yeah my fault, the dimension got cut off. (see the leader that goes nowhere?) The radius of the port/kerf is 2 1/4". ...But, that is not all effective port. Most of the time people say the effective length of the port is reduced by half the radius. That's why I show the start of the port 1 1/8" behind the face of the baffle.
