Also, push down on the cones and see if you can feel any scratching or rubbing. I have a question bro. if the reading of the impedance is way too high does that mean the coils are touching the magnets? To be completely honest, I have no idea. I can't imagine that it would, though, because electricity takes the path of least resistance. USAFsound Posted November 20, 2012 Author Report Posted November 20, 2012 My dmm was reading 3.5 ohms across the terminals on my box. I replaced all the speaker wire and now it's reading 2 ohms. Do you guys think a wire went bad or that I did something wrong the first time I put the subs in my new box?

I have a question bro. if the reading of the impedance is way too high does that mean the coils are touching the magnets? that wouldn't make the impedance really high. if you do have really high resistance first make sure you don't have the sub connected to anything and also that you don't have anything moving the cone cause that'll cause it to read wrong. ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
USAFsound Posted November 25, 2012 Author Report Posted November 25, 2012 I had them wired to 2 ohms using one of the trusty wiring diagrams off of crutchfield lol. Turns out one of the subs was on its way out. It blew yesterday morning so I ordered 2 SA-15s to replace the L7s.
