anything above a 142 tickles my ears, 150's starts getting a little painful, 157+ is when I no longer enjoy sitting in the vehicles haha.

A 43 should tickle your nose hairs if anything.

I'd get your ears checked, could be something more serious.

Only time my ears ever hurt were sitting in 155+ vehicles.

i can tickle nose hairs with my setup, i don't think i am doing 140's. I need to find a meter lol.

It could be from clipping. Before i had my dd-1 and tuned with the tpi-440 oscope i was clipping pretty hard and my ears hurt like hell,

this is the stupidest thing i have heard since the inception of the DD-1. go home!

I thought this sounded kinda odd, I doubt being tuned with the DD-1 will reduce your chances of hearing damage maybe when you tuned with the dd-1 you turned the gain down so much so it wasn't as loud but simply being clipped or un-clipped doesn't sound like it'd make that much of a difference, unless you're clipped so bad that you can clearly hear the distortion but you chose to ignore it??

Just as reference, my truck gains about 1.5 db clipped vs clean. And that is at the 155+ level.

Yes to a certain point also depends on burp vs music, I will gain on music for about first 15 seconds then shit starts getting a little hot, it just depends on freq, use the woofers to cool the coils, u need enough excursion help keep air moving if that makes sense. Cuz like higher hz songs I can't clip as long.
