Michael Mccullough Posted December 7, 2012 Author Report Posted December 7, 2012 ya got it hooked up like that but there dual 4. so drops to 1 ohm, got bored been messing with it turned my gain to like 1.5v settings on amp goes from 9v to .09v and mess with the deck sup output level can adjust 1-6 turned that up to 4 or 5 then turned my bass knob like 75% of the way and it started knocking the bass was super clean had no rattles do to treo dynamat in the front doors and trunk and back rear deck. drove from port A texas to austin texas like a 5 hour drive didnt get any clipping got to the house amp was a lil warm sub cone was a lil warm but for a 5 hour drive guess not bad. maybe the type r is more hungry then i thought i figure 600rms a pop=1200rms with both speakers from a glx 1400 would be more then enough to send waves through my chest =C maybe i just need another amp or is there away to test wattage out put with a dmm?

You cannot test for wattage output with just a DMM, you need a DMM and a Clampmeter. http://www.down4sound.com/forum/showthread.php?7317-How-to-clamp-an-amplifier Current Build: Project Flexington: 157.6db @ 37hz Parallel 6th order walk through, DC Neo Elite 18s, 4 DC 5.0ks, JY Lithium, 12 banks of XS Caps Old Builds:150db and HAIRTRICKs from 2x 12" Power Acoustik Mofos (6th order blow through) ;<p>Roadmaster Wagon Build - DC LVL 6 M3, Kicker Warhorse ; Godzilla swapped 240sx ; 6th Order Bandpass Alpine Type R 12 ; Fully loaded DC Level 5 18" 240sx

TeamHT Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 What? Quest for the 150? Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Noel989 Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 i know its not the rca switched them to my 4 channel rca out let same thing i got the hifonics glx 1400.1d, apline type r dual 4ohm wired to 1 ohm there parallel hooked up , my amp has sub sonic, lpf, bass eq, gain. and yes the deck setting sub on phase normal tried reverse same sound a lil diff not much, and let me re phrase i dont hear it clipping from over powering i kno it can clip at lower lvls if the settings are off may be wrong. Just cause you can't hear doesn't mean it's not clipping And it CAN clip at any volume So first step is to set your gain properly and LPf around 80 hertz subsonic around 5 hertz less than tuning of box and bass eq at 0 Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
