the bigger the room the more cone area you will need to get high spl. 2 18's at 24htz is more than enough for a home you wont have lots of spl but will be loud enough

L acoustics SB28, 2-4 of them would do 140db in a house without having to worry about the subs breaking.

I would worry about your neighbours, it's going to be very hard to contain that much sound.

It is possible, but impractical and you need drastic changes in house.

yea couldn't do that not in the kinda house id buy after school

itd fall apart

my idea is a closet sized room that is soundproof and capable of 140db of bass inside

it would most likely be run off car amps and i dont think itd take more power than a dryer

id probly have 2 rebuild everytime i moved unless it was under 8ft and could fit in door frames

the cost of building something like this probly less than buying a tahoe?

It should be, i don't know how much one costs.

You just need a lot of mass to stop sound. Mass in the form of bricks or concrete is relatively cheap.

I don't get it...you don't need 140dbs in a house to have a good bass experience in home...this isn't outside the box it's just retarded.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

i saw this vid of a guy who built his sub box out of concrete

i looked 4 the vid and cant find it

lol @ concrete daily 2mpg

the main reason 4 wanting 2 do this is so i dont have 2 be in a car 4 eye shaking bass

im in no position 2 finance this project yet

i just like alot of the ideas i read on here about other things

and i respect ur guys opinions
