Only real thing I can think of is deadening, but then again, my Jeep peaked around 34hz because of the roof flex I think haha. My roof goes nuts on 52-56hz, so I am guessing somehwere in there for my peak. I honestly think my bandwidth has a double drop type deal. Where it is high at higher frequencies, slowly goes down until it hits my peak, slopes more off that, then goes down to my tuning, and drops straight the fuck off after that. BassJunkie Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 My single 15 is louder on lows sealed up, and is louder sealed up in general. I feel like its because the box I use is well over the recommended size and tuned pretty low (32hz) with a good bit of port area. I build large with intentions to shrink the box and port but I'm happy with this for my daily application so I havent made changes, yet. Now when I tried the same box on triple the power with a slightly beefier sub I shredded it within the first hour of play time. The box is pretty hard on this sub but its held up fine for about a month now and im not easy on it. With the sub only seeing 1kw clamped I feel having the box larger increases sealed output, but is risky. Over powering subs can overcome alot of hurdles too, building to be loud sealed seems to be stressful on equipment any way you look at it. Just my findings and my .02 Just for the record. Trunk car, single 15, 1kw clamped, 143db @ 46hz 140@ 32hz loses a few tenths just by cracking my window slightly. Nothing spectacular just sharing my findings. Quiet Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 2.5 cubes to be tuned so low might just be the problem. I'm at 3.33 at 29hz on my RF 15 and it still doesn't get the lowz like I want it. I'm going to two JBL 10s soon and looking to do it in the same 3.5 cubes tuned to 27. I'm looking to play low 20s audibly and loudly. but what's weird is that I can paper trick nicely in the teens. 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.

Are you sure you're tuned to 29? I shuold be, used the Port length off of torres and deducted it properly to get the length I had to cut the wood to for the port. RooTxBeeR Posted December 4, 2012 Author Report Posted December 4, 2012 Also, I know that it doesn't it work well with the specific box, because the box is to small. But it was the same with my old subs, I built the box actually bigger than specs, and sealed up the where almost not there. RooTxBeeR Posted December 4, 2012 Author Report Posted December 4, 2012 I have to run sub up port up, and I dont think a .16 increase in box volume is going to make that drastic of a difference from where I am at now. I already have a new design made.
