all4spl Posted December 13, 2012 Report Share Posted December 13, 2012 I've had my Hero3 black for a little while you are gonna love it Steve, however the underwater casing prevents a LOT of audio from coming through in the videos. I would recommend buying the "FRAME" which is a plastic frame that goes around the Hero3 and lets all the audio in. Oh also just a side note, be sure to update the firmware on the camera before using it, and also make sure your Micro SD cards are at least Class 10, I use the SanDisk Ultras and they work great for ALL the video types it can take. You should also check out the higher recording settings like 4k cinematic and 2.7k cinematic amazing quality. My favorite thing is filming from the bars with a RAM mount...on th ebars of my MX bike or Sportbike everything looks crazy as hell. I take mine everywhere and Im excited to use the gp 3 black edition now. Remote and wifi makes it so sick. On another note..these cams are rock solid including the GP2. My dog got ahold of the gp2 when it was charging on my bed he chewed the crap outta it...still works fine lens didnt scratcha and all that happened was plastic got mangled....he got the outercase too but didnt do any damage. I've had a few good get offs with mine at high speed and aside form breaking a helmet mount nothing bad has ever happened. GOOD purchase Steve they are beast cameras. Mine only does 1080 at 30fps, but I couldn't afford the black, and mine does what I need it to do. They're tough ass cameras too. Mine got hit off my helmet by a friends snowboard yesterday snowboarding, and there isn't a scratch on the case at all. Its awesome so far! I can't say how it will like 18's but it does ok on 1 15 in the Lex I love the way it looks for sure. vid is uploading now i will post up in a few.
