BigPimpin91
I think we need a sticky on the car audio basics. Us noobs need a resource for our builds. I'm not sure if I want this to be a Q & A forum seeing as we already have one but just a run down of what to do with stuff. For example; I don't know where to run wire. Where do you run power when hooking up your amplifiers? In or under the vehicle? Where at in or under the vehicle? Through the frame or under the carpet? When building a box, should you use the tradition terminal posts that have the push button or should you drill a hole and silicone it shut? Also, little tips posted in here would be nice. Someone mentioned that if you ground the outer ring of your RCA connector to the back of your radio it can cut down on engine noise. Well, that's all. Thanks. Bryan
I think the SEARCH button is user friendly... babyjoker
i agree a thread like this would be useful for new people since they dont use the search for older threads, so if u can have a list of Q's and then put a link to a thread addressing that topic would be very useful for example big 3 <link> running wire <link> box design <link> Quote 1999 Eclipse N/T 12'' Fi BTL Gp3000d PM D3100

Torres
you can do either inside or outside to run the wire. sometimes easier to go outside, especially with multiple runs. i did mine inside, and under the carpet. terminals is up to you i guess. i dont like the push kind, so i just used bolts. you could even just run a straight wire through there also. and yes grounding the outer ring of the RCA will help reduce/eliminate noise, but it's not the sole solution, tho it will help determine if it's coming from somewhere else. those dont answer all your questions...but just some help. and x3 on that. not a bad idea. there's a lot of stickies in each category also with useful info EDIT: the search is kinda hard to use sometimes imo. minimum of 4 letters. unless there's somethin i'm not seein Edited January 28, 2008 by ExpoSport

Thanks. I'm calling for that to be stickied. Moderator? Quote BigPimpin91's Banging Music
BigPimpin91
Also, What's the difference between db Drag and Bass Race? I seem to get them both confused with each other. Bass Race you play music for 30 seconds for an average db rating, right? db Drag you play music to get your peak frequency db?
