8ight Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 maybe that hifonics amp isnt capable of producing what it claims......... I would be inclined to agree, most amps are sensitive enough to make full power on less than 1v input. I'm gonna hate

I would be inclined to agree, most amps are sensitive enough to make full power on less than 1v input. I have a buddy with the same amp. I'll see if I can borrow it to see what sort of results I can get. Won't be for a couple days though He has a similar issue though - his deck is some cheapo thing that puts out .1v on the RCAs even with everything turned up. I'll see what the max unloaded, unclipped voltage I can get out of the amp before clipping is and post back. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
SLYentist Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 Does your amplifier have a switch to change input sensitivity from high to low and vice versa? Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.
Truconcept Posted December 28, 2012 Report Posted December 28, 2012 cheap headunits have cheap equalizers the SQ will most likely be poor **actin bad like a kid at six flags**
