john253a Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 youll be looking at something like 4net sealed, 8net ported at 47hz I like to use aeros on 4th as then you can change the tuning to get the right sound I found some better low 50 and other low 40 So there is no magic number
stroupe79 Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 Yeah there in a 12 cube ported at 30hz. And im not completly sure how to build it. I also forgot to say im wanting to keep my back seats. why do you have 4 VVX 12s in a 12cube box to begin with? they only need like 6-8cubes per Skar's recommendations.... Ported @ 35Hz 1.5-2.0 ft^3 I would start by building a ported box that is better suited to those subs before trying to build a 4th order...just my opinion http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
Jeremy21291 Posted January 7, 2013 Author Report Posted January 7, 2013 Wont i get alot better results with a 4th order?
wcefai Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 Wont i get alot better results with a 4th order? With lots of testing, yeah. But I'd just suggest building a box per skar's specs
Jeremy21291 Posted January 7, 2013 Author Report Posted January 7, 2013 I was really wanting to build a 4th for something different. Ive never done one before and id like to try it out.
tacomaguy1 Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 4 sealed and 12ported for a 3-1 ratio Can start with 1/2 the cone area for your port area...could guess to tune it around 45hz and go from there Get to work and let us know how it turns out Team Flex Issues
john253a Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 if u want different T-line them, if u have the space but wire them to a higher ohm load to drop the power

Could waste a bunch of money/time on a box that sounds like ass. stroupe79 Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 I am just saying, it would be alot better to build a box to the requirements of your subs to see how they would do in a proper box before you should consider doing a 4th order.... i mean you could do 6-8 cubes and tune that low like 29hz if your dead set on a 4th....2 to 1 ratio...4.5 sealed and 9 ported...and tune in the mid/high 40s http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
