First off I am not tied to any political party per se but on most matter I lean democratic/liberal. That being said the whole debate about banning certain types of weapons is complete and utter horseshit. These laws are written and put into motion by people who have no idea what they are talking about. They have little to no knowledge of firearms or how they work. They simply look at a weapon and deem it 'scary'. Now I do not own any guns, however many of my friends do. They have all taught me a great deal about each of their guns and the responsibility that comes with gun ownership. As it currently stands in Massachusetts it can be quite hard to get your class A or B gun license to carry. Should it be this hard? I personally feel that many people shouldn't own a firearm plain and simple. They are mentally unfit for lack of a better term. Whenever a deranged psycho shoots up a school or a movie theater people always seem to focus on the fact that they used a gun and not the mental well-being of the shooter. This I feel is one of the biggest hurdles people need to face, which is GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE. The gun is simply to a means to an end, however so can a rock, or a screwdriver, or even a car. Thousands of everyday items we all use can be used to kill, of course that doesn’t mean they should be illegal. It is simply an easy way out for politicians who twist these events to gain political support from those who do not know any better. For example I could register for a firearms safety course pay the $200 fee, file the necessary paperwork with my local police department, wait 3-6 weeks and maybe get my license. And after all that I could go to a gun store file more paperwork have my fingerprints taken and get a background check done and I could finally have a gun. Or I could take a 5 minute walk from where I work and buy a gun off of “some guy” for like $300. What do you think the criminals going to do? 2002 Honda CR-VAlpine 9887My BuildRebuilding... It drives me CRAZY when someone refers to people being able to own those "automatic assault rifles". It drives me CRAZY when someone refers to people being able to own those "automatic assault rifles". Civilians dont own Automatics lol... We own Semi Auto Counterparts lol.... People have also been lead to believe that AR's are scarier than their 223 Bolt action counterparts... Both weapons are the same they just have different clothing and operation systems... Point being is REGARDLESS of how scary a gun looks blah blah blah...
