Need Advice on Sub

Recommended Posts

Ok guys..finally got a sub enclosure worked out for my truck, so I need to know which sub you guys would reccomend for some good solid beats in a .95cf sealed enclosure, down firing at the truck floor.  I was thinking about a JL 10W6V2, but the box only has 7 inches of mounting depth  :'(

Any ideas? (also budget is not a concern to me...I need beats bad.  The stock system has got to leave quickly :D)

EDIT:  According to the website, the sub can either be 8,10 or 12, but no square subs.

Thanks for the reply David.  Looks like I'll be purchasing it on Monday.

Quick question on power,  the specs say 800rms.

So I've got a Hifonics BX1500D in which is supposed to do 1500x1 at 1 ohm.  so If I get that FI 10 in dual 2 ohm coils, wire it in parrellel, down to 1 ohm and put the BX1500D on it, is that gonna be to much power?  Or should I opt for the dual 1 ohm coils, wire it in series and only put 1000x1 on it?

The specs to the amp are

RMS Power @ 4 ohms : 500 Watts x 1

RMS Power @ 2 ohms : 1000 Watts x 1

RMS Power @ 1 ohms : 1500 Watts x 1

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

Is the bass gonna be clean with only 1 sub though?  I'm not looking to win any comps..but I definately wanna be able to crank it at will (after I get a new alternator that is).
