Amart88 Posted January 16, 2013 Report Posted January 16, 2013 After doing ALOT of searching I have been getting mixed messages about using dielectric grease on electrical connections. I just ran a ground to my frame with a tinned lug and it is in a spot that will get alot of weather. I have a tube of it here but am not sure if or how I should use the stuff. Do I put it in between the connection or just put it over once its bolted down? I am just not sure if it will interfere with the connection since its a non conductor. Should I use it or is there something better to stop it from corroding, Thanks! My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.

Get a can of plastic spray (basically plasti-dip meant to be sprayed thick) or frame/truck bed liner and give it a spray. Will never corrode.. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. That platidip stuff can be removed if I recall? in case I ever had to swap the wire. Cant really say how often. I do it after everything is bolted up as well.

It's definitely not permanent, but I think its easy to just spray on there every once in a while. Ive been lucky and never had any corrosion on my truck even after all the crap I put it through.
