lifes a BOX Posted January 25, 2013 Report Posted January 25, 2013 A cap doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nothing else. If the current isn't there, a cap won't help.

Alt + big3 in 1/0 and go from there. MECHMAN Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Really, the answer is that you need an alternator, a battery, and good cable to connect them. As far as which one you get first, it's kind of a toss-up. The battery would make a big improvement, but will be a heavy strain against your stock 105 amp small case 6G alternator. Those units are someone failure prone, and will not be very happy with the extra load from the system. We build a 6 phase 240 amp unit that bolts right in place of the stock 3 phase alternator for $399. That would be a great choice for your power level, and will make plenty of juice at idle. Installation is a pain on that car, unfortunately. Please DO NOT waste your money on a cap, it will do absolutely nothing for your electrical system.
