This is what i am talking about, There are things that have batteries that should have working batteries when you buy them. There are things that have batteries that are assumed you will need batteries for when you buy them.

If you have him send it back you will get negative feedback guaranteed. What is more important to you, your rating on ebay or $5. Just make sure that he agrees in writing that you will get positive feedback if you pay for the battery. How much money is it going to cost you in the long run if you have negative feedback vs the $5 for the battery. If he doesnt give the positive feedback after the deal then you can take it to ebay with the document trail.

How does the op actually know that it even works. It could be something other than the battery. When I first read the title of the post I thought the battery had died right after the buyer received it. Until someone pointed out that the watch had the same time in all the pics. It should have been listed that the watch needed a battery if you were 100% sure that that's even why it wasn't working

How cheap for fucks sake can you be? I'm going to say the watch should have included a working battery. Whether the same time is shown in all the photos, you showed the back of it off, or you sold a watch..and not a watch and battery. You already said you won't pay for it do this thread is a complete waste of time. Besides proving you are just a cheap douche looking to rationalize your shady selling. As nicely as I can say, fuck you.

PS. I hope the next time you buy a headunit it doesn't come with fuses, relay, or wires. Since, you know, technically you only bought a headunit.

yeah, I was being nicer in my reply but this is exactly how I would view you (the OP) if I had bought the watch. That's just a horse shit move.

Anyways, I've sold TONS of stuff on ebay. From a $250 engineer sample amd CPU, $250 sure loc archery bow sight, to $80 power beats by dre or even stuff that I did not make any money on (literally) because of shipping. every single buyer was happy except one who was mad that I lost the item and could not ship it so he gave me negative feedback (not really fair but whatever)

I know for a FACT that the watch works. I got it insured for $50 from USPS. I even asked if it's damaged if they will pay and they said yes! So I know if that asshole would just get a damn battery he would STFU already about the damn watch...but he's trying to be a pain in the ass for the hell of it. That's all I see. It's a $5 battery after all. Again, these watches sell for about $100, possibly more, I am not sure. At the local ross they range from $50-$150 or more and that's like 50-70% off.

He got it for $50 and $5 shipping (actual shipping. I think I got some change back or had to put a little extra but basically $5)

Just last week I had a guy being even WORSE about this $15 fan controller that worked 100%. I asked him a ton of questions and eventually he figured it out and said sorry. Not surprising that people try to blame me when they don't even try the simplest things.

So I think that it's a bit unfair to assume I'm a shitty ebay seller....that's all

Should have listed it with a dead battery, which would have prevented this issue in the first place.

Since you did not, the right thing to do is refund him the cost of a new battery.
