Question on Plasti Dip

I purchased some Plasti-dip at Lowes(my friends have bought it at Home Depot), it was 5$ a can plus tax. It worked good for me, I put it over the plastic on my rear bumper, the only problem I had was when I peeled away the tape it started to peel away some of the paint, I waited 15-20 minutes between coats and I did 3 coats. I just recently did this so im going to try to cover it up again and just respray the places that got peeled away a little.

the way to avoid this is as follows

first coat should be about 50% transparency

let dry ten minutes

put on second and third coats simultaneously

remove tape while still wet

use a sharp angle and you will get a clean line

peel the tape off like 30 seconds after you finish spraying, leaves a much better line

Yeah trick is to peel the tape right after your done

Should I just take it off and try again or just respray in the places that messed up?

Sounds like some good info here, was thinking of plasti dipping some of the chrome pieces and maybe my rims this summer once I peal off the shitty balancing weights that are on them and have them re-balanced but with the weights on the inside of the rim.

How many cans would it take to do the hood on a ford explorer? My hood has chunks of paint peeling off, it's not rusty or anything just big flakes of paint coming off.

I'd say 3 cans. 4 just to be safe.
