I just traded a buddy my 3.5k and a voluble bucks for his 7.5k.. I want to install three XL 12s in my camaro but the description on DCs website says I need two upgraded alenators, right now I have one mechman 320 amp alt would this be okay? Please help, I was thinking of using a stinger spp2250 battery in the trunk and have a yellow top optima under the hood. Thanks

I'm sure one of the DC guys will chime in, but the requirements on the web site are there for a reason. You want to run a 7.5k on that alt and ONE extra batt? I'm pretty sure you're going to need like 5+ MORE batts, but I'll let someone more knowledgeable tell you for sure.

you could be pulling about 700a of current. you need a bigger battery bank no doubt.

Yes the 7.5k is a monster, it is capable of over 8k on a 12v system. Bare min I would suggest 3 d3100s or 2 d7500s in the rear for this amplifier. My recommendation is expect as much in electrical to power this amp and what your gonna pay for the amp itself.

i figure it will cost more in electrical to power this beast.. each alt goes for $450 so thats $900 plus $369 each battery = 1107+900 = 2007 plus the runs of wire lol

And you will still have your batt´s quite often on the charger. Have a look what 500 amp´s of draw do, to the big guy´s car audio batt´s.

I think I know what happens. I personally have over 1500a of draw in my vehicle. Also notice there's nothing on the other end charging while under the load on the test bench.
