It just so happens the port wall end 5.25 from the back wall. By doing that does the thickness of the port wall itself act as a bend of .75 adding way more length to the port...like the entire corner of the box

i dont think you will have an issue with that. i know what you are saying but I don't think its an issue here.

When your ports 5.25 you would want the space between the port and the back wall to be larger then that number, just to prevent chances that it see's it as an extension of the port.
