OR there is a output delay due to PCM control. I checked the connections and nothing ^seemed* loose or dangerous, but I didn't go over with a fine tooth comb by any means. I'd believe the lag: but this is 5-10 second issue we are talking about. Do you think that is still a possibility? I was also thinking about the bad alt, since the power is almost exactly 2/3 what it should be - like a bad winding or something. Greg: if you want to come up to my house one of these days, we take a really detailed look at everything When I tested internal reg alts it took min of 10 secs for them to pick up output from a large pull over 200 amps. But since you are pulling less I would stand to guess it is connections or not enough grounding or bad ground. CJ18 Posted February 24, 2013 Report Share Posted February 24, 2013 Here is another way to look at this. The amplifier is going to draw current directly from the alternator. It isgoing to draw as much as it can until the alt is tapped out. If the ampstill wants more power, then it is going to get into the batteryreserve. Theoretically, the D3100 should be able to power the rf2500 byitself even without the alternator. You could very easily have a bad alternator and a bad battery.
