So, if I cut this outta my car...

Recommended Posts

Is it anything structural? I want/ need to cut the two metal pieces circled in order to fit my box...I could modify the box, but trying not to lose cu ft. If this isn't anything important, then it is gone! lol. Not familiar with the frame integrity of a hatch.

Thanks

I'm drunk but looking at it doesn't look like it provides any structural rigidity. It looks more like an easy way to mount something up to it. What was connected to it?

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

Quality is all in how you take pictures ;) I have plenty of projects that look WAY better on camera then in person :D

crazy to fit so many in so little. Reminds me of some of the porns I've seen?

It is very hard to tell from just that picture. Being able to tell where it came from/where it goes as well as feeling its thickness would be better to tell how important it is or if it was just a seat mount or something.

Not connected to anything really. It's where my seats use to rest against. I figured it was more of a 'support' for the seats than anything, but safer to ask lol.

MarioB... no YOU wouldn't :P kidding!!!! lol

they could be supports for the rear struts so the back of the car doesnt fold..... seen alot of different vehicles use something like those to keep the car rigid right there as thats a high stress point when you go over a bump or big dip in the road for the suspension to compress....but imho i WOULDNT cut that out or at least if you decide to, weld up some strong braces to those same points around the box if possible.... just my 2 cents

i think there real i was looking through that guys stuff he sells and it looks like he finds stuff at auctions and just sells it

Yea, it looks like someone got the mids about a month ago....shit. If I had a whole Hertz front stage my ears would jizz all over my cheeks.

Yes, but I've never seen them mounted like those. A better look doesn't show it to be anything structural
