Piggi3 Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Anyone no how to lower box rise im at 3ohms from.5ohm with 4 lvl 5 15s 4th order 3:1 and ab1100.1 8 2150s dropping to 13 volts max
sprkn_ranger Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 I'm not 100% sure, but I think all you really can do is wire your final load down lower (which many here will advise against) or rebuild the box and try again. Miguels Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 maybe make the ratio 2:1? dont know if that will work though my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Hotdog Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 is your 4th order all one chamber with 4 subs on the sealed side? if so then making each sub in it's own sealed chamber on the sealed side will lower rise some. Piggi3 Posted March 6, 2013 Author Report Posted March 6, 2013 No it's 2 and 2 on the sides firing at eachother
SnowDrifter Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 I mentioned this in your other thread: Just because you are rising this much at one frequency doesn't mean you rise that much at all frequencies I wouldn't sweat it unless you are rising like that across the board. Where are you located? Perhaps someone near you has an IM-SG? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Raptorman Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Box size has to increase by some degree to increase efficiency, ie lower the rise. Thats just a very general piece of advice though. 1996 GMC Sonoma Four Fi BTL Neo 18's In 2:1 6th Order Bandpass 2 Ampere 5k's @ .5 TEAM FI TEAM #LITHIUMCANTDEMO On 10/20/2013 at 0:37 AM, KillaCam said: Fucking with a Prius driver is like making fun of a disabled kid. bassfreake Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 No it's 2 and 2 on the sides firing at eachother dude I saw a box earlier today for a pair of 10s at a local audio place that was kinda like that, a 10 on each side they were at a 45 degree angle to the front of the box though, with a plexi front. it looked awesome I kinda wanna try to do one at some point if I had room for something like that. with some 10s I probably could do something like for my trunk but I wanna try and see what I can do with some 12s first before I go as small as 10s lol Thanks I was pretty excited about the alt myself. kind of like a school girl, in a dress, on a swing. lol It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out. SnowDrifter Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 Here's out of the IM-SG manual. It's a sample graph of your rise. So where you were measuring it might have been at a particularly "risey" frequency ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
