Given the amount of cars his family has bought from that dealer, they would suck his dick if he told them to. That's a fact. :) lol

Putting the cap back on and having the dealer check it out was the best thing to do. It's not gonna cause any long term effects though. The engine works as a vacuum pump, all sealed up, it will run perfect. With the cap left off, it will run as though there was a vacuum leak, therefore it would run rough.

um ... no

reading this im glad everything worked out alright man. Our farm has a 2000 F:250 with the 7.3 Powerstroke in it and we used to take it to a place in town that changed oil but one time they didn't tighten the oil plug at all and we were driving down the road and low oil pressure light came on in the dash and the motor just shut off. looked under neath and seen that there was no plug so we pilled it back up with oil and put a new plug in and she fired right up. its a good thing engines have a failsafe like that if theres no oil pressure. that was the last time we didn't change out own oil.

Also, i have a buddy that wanted something done to his pickup so we popped the hood to check it out and i saw that the dipstick wasnt all the way down. there was dust all over on the dipstick and inside the tube from driving on gravel roads all the time. I told him that if i were him id pull the plug and change the oil now or get the oil changed as soon as he could. But he says, "well did you push it down? ill keep driving it and well see what happens." not the smartest move but hes from a farming family and they're loaded. so if they want to pay for a new engine that's not my business. Just stupid.

Um... Yes.

Um no.... So you are saying EVERYBODY Tht uses a breather filter for pcv system is having a vacuum leak? LOLOLOLOLOL Tell ya what, then look at this pic and tell me i have a vacuum leak on my camaro

No sir...... Get your facts straight.

Going by your therory then my Z06 must have had a HELL OF A VAC LEAK as the alternator has vent holes in the case, and since alt ataches to engine, i guess it has a vac leak too.... Wonder if that was my idle issue, or maybe it was the 247/236 .600 @ .50 lift cam in it ;) HEres a pic of the vented alt .... LOL

DSCF0015.jpg

Edit... dont even ask size of motor in camaro, or cam size ;) I will only say it was a solid roller motor :yahoo: And these cars were sold back in 05 for the move to Ga :( and yes, i put n20 on everything!

No, I'm not saying that EVERYBODY that runs a breather for the pcv system has a vacuum leak. The pcv valve is there to maintain a constant pressure inside the engine block, then releases the pressure when it gets too high, so it's gets mixed back in with the fuel and burned off. The engine was designed to be maintain a certain pressure, that's all. But of course, any add-ons that are done, there is ALWAYS a risk of something not working the way it should.
