As far as the hole...getting started is the hardest thing, I had my truck since it was 2 years old and I do all mechanical work to it myself. Just have a solid plan and jump in there and start drilling /cutting. Once you get started it's all good, the hard part is over. I highly recommend using a large diameter hole saw for the corners and a grinder with sheet metal disc for the stragiht parts (nice and slow, eats it up like butter). And do a lot of measuring and centering and aligning first; instead of measure twice cut once, I measured like 4-5 times! Take lots of pictures and maybe some video.
