hayden55
I have a hifonics hfi1000.1d on my sundown sa-8v2 in a really good box. It gets pretty loud but just not loud enough. At 2 ohms im suppost to be getting 750, but it sounds like 650. What is the best 1000w rms at 2omh amplifier guys under 200 in your opinions that is cea-2006 rated? Upgrade to a bigger hifonics that is certified? Im selling my current amplifier in the next couple weeks to a friend so i will upgrade then.I figured I would listen to what you guys have to say since you guys told me not to get the hfi1000 and you guys were right, im not happy with it. 2006 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0l-Rockford Fosgate 6x8s 3-ways- Sundown Audio SA-8- 3.64ft3 tline box in naked mdf- Kicker zx750.1- 0/1 Gauge wires- Pioneer head unit stuff to come:16 steve meade 18's7 rockford fosgate t15000bdcpa fleet of escaladeslol jk new car? Guest
there is no audible difference from 650 to 750.you are just pulling numbers out of the air. cea means Jack. I can't think of a single good amp at that price with that power level

My current amplifier is not cea-2006 rated so i do not think it is putting out a good 750 but more like 500-650. A good example of a non cea-2006 rated amplifier would be anything made by Boss Audio. If it doesnt matter you should really go check out some of their 4000w amplifiers for 90 bucks 2006 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0l-Rockford Fosgate 6x8s 3-ways- Sundown Audio SA-8- 3.64ft3 tline box in naked mdf- Kicker zx750.1- 0/1 Gauge wires- Pioneer head unit stuff to come:16 steve meade 18's7 rockford fosgate t15000bdcpa fleet of escaladeslol jk new car? Omega5002
Bigger hifonics amp, though don't go with the Hifi series, BRZ does rated if you can find them. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

CleanSierra
He was referring to your inaccurate guesstimate of 650 rather than 750. The reason it's not "enough" for you is because it's a single 8" sub. Yeah, they are some little beasts, but at the end of the day, you've still only got a single 8. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra
Also, why does everyone think being double the RMS to a sub goes anything special. The sub was built for what, 400 Watts RMS? Do you know what a sub does with that extra 600 Watts? Not a lot, but creates a lot more heat. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. CleanSierra
Agreed, pick up a second 8"er for a difference. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
hayden55
@Swordlordboy1234 Time for a 1200 watt at 1 ohm amp with a second 8... I love the way you think! The only thing is i cant afford another sa-8v2 and i have no room for it. Im in an extended cab ranger so i atleast have to have a little storage space inside the cab. @CleanSierra Also, why does everyone think being double the RMS to a sub goes anything special. The sub was built for what, 400 Watts RMS? Do you know what a sub does with that extra 600 Watts? Not a lot, but creates a lot more heat. It was rated for 500w rms but i have seen a guy throw an ns-1 at it on youtube. Ive actually sent him a couple messages before and he says he runs it everyday with no problems. That like 6500w rms daily. O.OWhat about the GLX series, the ZRX series, and the BRZ have been discontinued for the newer BRX series and are kinda pricey. Brz sounds good though. And then whenever i decided to upgrade i can run 1 ohm and up my power for 2 subs. 2006 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0l-Rockford Fosgate 6x8s 3-ways- Sundown Audio SA-8- 3.64ft3 tline box in naked mdf- Kicker zx750.1- 0/1 Gauge wires- Pioneer head unit stuff to come:16 steve meade 18's7 rockford fosgate t15000bdcpa fleet of escaladeslol jk new car?
