dog24fret Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 I have a 2000 Chevy burb that has the OnStar stuff in it. When I put the new HU in. I want to take it out and put a VM in that spot. If I can get one this time . I have Goggled,Binged and Yahooed if it would be a problem for the burb or not. Haven't found anything so here I am. Also I was wondering if any one here knows what the last picture is. It has some kind of fan in it and sounds like crap. The dealer was to lazy to come out and look at it to tell me what the heck it is. This is above the drivers head. Thanks for any help guys. Mods if this is in the wrong spot sorry. It fits in several places lol. Cowboy Escort GrAnny ThUmper The Burp
AK bass Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 I'm pretty sure the one by the claimant controls is a mic for the onstar (complete shit imo) the one above my head in my burban has never made a noise and theres two of them and I wold also like to know what it is. WastedTalent Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 That's where they inject the gas to the interior to knock the driver out if stolen vehicle. Ok but really, Idk. Suspicious now though huh? haha. Sheena = pedobear

Suspicious now though huh? haha. lmao Daggum government conspiracy lol. Yes it is bugging me. Yea the speaker like thing sounds like a fan with bad bearings in it. If I cover it with my hand it gets quieter I've used a smoke maching and don't show any real air movement. I don't think I asked it right but if I remove everything regarding OnStar will it mess anything up with my burb? Cowboy Escort GrAnny ThUmper The Burp
AK bass Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 I wanted to take the bose and onstar out but I don't want to fuck anything up, so i'm just going to put a big system in my old truck without any of that bullshit. All I know is rhat if you take out the onstar you will run into problems down the road....but im not sure. "The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources." Albert Einstein
Lbox88 Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 If you have the appropriate wiring harness that's made for your vehicle, just disconnect the Onstar stuff, it's fine. Mine is. UBL | Build Log
ric006 Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 above you is the mic they have changed them over the years they started in circle
Rmichael91 Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 The little speaker grill is actually the onstar mic/speaker. The mic near your overhead climate controls is an aftermarket for a headunit or hands free cell phone kit.

Ok That makes me feel better to know. Thanks The little speaker grill is actually the onstar mic/speaker. The mic near your overhead climate controls is an aftermarket for a headunit or hands free cell phone kit. Really that noisy circle thing is a speaker. It's driving me nuts. The one by the climate controls is hard wired to something up there. Everything is factory at this point lol. thank you Cowboy Escort GrAnny ThUmper The Burp
