MrSkippyJ
because he is basing everything off the guy doing 160s with 4 15s in a 3:1 4th. that is his gospel. Pro7
Why not put the 18s in a flat wall and just stagger the subs? Not directly on top of eachother but just a couple inches over? Tons of people do that. _________ | O O | | |O O | | --------- There's your ported wall of 4 18s! Miguels
it will take him number of designs before he gets what he wants.. that other guy did 162 but how many times did he build the box? is it the same car? my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
mrlovethatbass21
4th orders can get super loud and have a wider bandwidth than a flat wall. What I'm saying is that bigger is not always better. Why try and force / cram some woofers in a truck when you build a proper box with smaller woofers and be louder. I sat in plenty of flat walls and 4th order walls, and 4th sound way better in my opinion . This is not for numbers, I don't compete , it's just a daily ground pounder. Miguels
daily ground pounder? keep the 18's and build a 2:1 ratio 4th my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
mrlovethatbass21
I'm going to think about it, I don't have a design for it, I have like three designs for the 15"s. I haven't seen anybody do a flat wall with four 18"s probably because of space. Everybody keeps talking about keeping the 18s and putting them in a flat wall but If it was possible I would be cramming them in there and not possibly having a box that's big enough. mrlovethatbass21
And check this out, there is max height of 37 inches from the roof to the floor. Both subs plus double layers box would be almost 40" in height which I don't have. Even if staggered there would be no room for wood
Brandon15zzz
I miss the days when 4th orders and 6th orders were shunned lol. Its funny people see a few "master builders" make some really loud 4th orders or what not and think that they can do it. Flat wall > "X" order.
