Hellbilly429 Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 So I finally got word back from my warranty work that took 2 months on my soundstream ref1.1000, so it's junk and they can't replace it so they issued me a store credit of $252.86 at Onlinecarstereo.com, which I would rather just be refunded the money and take it elsewhere but I guess that not their warranty policy..... So I really want suggestions this time as to what is a worthwhile amp that I can purchase from Onlinecarstereo.com for around that $252.86, and I am willing to throw another $100 or so at a new amp on top of that to make sure I get something I won't be returning in a month... I am looking for something that does 1000wrms at 2 ohms or close to it, but would also like to get something that can run more power at 1 ohm so when I upgrade my amp can handle it. I am looking into this amp http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_31270_MB_Quart_ONX12000D.aspx It matches my speaker's amp and I am very happy with that amp, but I am not too trusting and just want some opinions before I go balls deep into another amp. Been bass-less for 2 months now, Please Help Guys! 03 Xtreme Fosgate Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 what about one of these? well worth \the extra $ http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_23007_Rockford_Fosgate_T1000-1bd.aspx http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_19335_Rockford_Fosgate_Punch_P1000-1bd.aspx BUILD LOG-http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179004-03-s10-xtreme-ext-cab-rf-build/ PHOTOBUCKET- http://s1354.beta.photobucket.com/user/03XtremeFosgate/library/truck%20audio%20rebuild
03 Xtreme Fosgate Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 or this http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_23624_Rockford_Fosgate_R1000-1D.aspx.. I've used a P1000.1 bd for 5 years with no problems at all pushing a pair of T1 12's. I've moved up to the RF power series now besides the P500.2 I'm going to be using for my dedicated midbass speakers BUILD LOG-http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179004-03-s10-xtreme-ext-cab-rf-build/ PHOTOBUCKET- http://s1354.beta.photobucket.com/user/03XtremeFosgate/library/truck%20audio%20rebuild
Hellbilly429 Posted April 4, 2013 Author Report Posted April 4, 2013 I looked at them, I've never really heard a fosgate amp at work so wasn't too sure spending all that $ on an amp rated for less power would be worth it. But I guess if these amps do more than rated and are more efficient they might be worth it, and what the hell is the difference between the p1000-1d and the t1000-1d other than like $30? 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
P4killer_ Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 Well on page 12 or so under class d you get to your price bracket. 300-400 or so. What stands out to me: You got the rf 1000.1 and kicker zx1000.1 which will be rock solid. Although I think kicker is 2ohm. I didn't look though. Then you have the Brutus 2400, I always hear great things about the db drive okur series.. but the a7 which I'm assuming is the top is about the same price for power wise as the rf or kicker.. idk about the a3 or a5 series that have higher ratings.. I'd try em though.. Lastly you have the audio pipe apk 2500 which I don't care for ap much but the apk does seem beefy. I might consider this... It won't be that bad.. If I had to choose I'd get the hifonics Brutus 2400. It will do close to rated. If you have decent electrical it will be great. And hifonics imo is a semi decent brand. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_34945_Hifonics_BRX24001D.aspx Setup: 2010 Hyundai Elantra Factory Unit via 4 chan NVX LOC Excessive Amperage "H/O" Alt Xs D3400/ Xs XP3000 Big 3. 2 Runs of +, 2 Runs of - DD M3b and 2 12" AQ HDC4s
03 Xtreme Fosgate Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 They're real efficient with a good electrical and the power series are just plain better than the punch but both are worth the $. Get more output and efficiency out of the power series. If you have the extra $ then I would get T1000 for $30 more. Haven't really heard anything bout the MBQ onyx amps but heard set of their onyx 6.5" components and they sounded great and only on head unit power. Hellbilly429 Posted April 4, 2013 Author Report Posted April 4, 2013 Yeah, I read the review on the onx1.2000d and guy says its running 2 sa-12's quite well, plus my onx4.80 on my speakers kicks ass and is clean. Looked into the hifonics too, my electrical will be more stable once I do the big 3 this summer (stock batt location is in the trunk) and toss another battery in there, but I would like to get something efficient too and I hear people saying hifonics is a power hog. Kicker is 2 0hms, seriously considering the rockford but onlinecarstereo.com not a rockford authorized dealer either, not sure if they makes too big of a difference to me or not if I know the product is good. 2018 Honda Civic Sport Hatchback (build in progress) NVX Sound Deadener (Front Doors) Stinger FAST Rings Stock Electrical SSA Evil 6.5's Front Speakers Stock rear speakers MB Quart ONX4.80 speaker amp Rockford Fosgate T-1500bdcp DC Level 4 12" D1 @ 2-ohm Box In Design Stage Stock RadioMy Build Log
Jzzt Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 I had the p1000-1bd, solid amp, barely got warm, cant complain about it, the one thing I didnt like was the fact that the subsonic filter was fixed @ ~28Hz, either on or off. But if your looking for ~1k @ 2ohm then I dont know if you would want the rf. I have never dealt with these personally (I have with the older ones) but doesnt seem like a bad deal... does power you want @2 ohms and can go down to 0.5 ohms. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_14079_Lanzar_OPTI2000D.aspx

They're efficient and dependable but the other guy had some good suggestions as well.. here's my amps birth sheets..
