On top of that we both had and loved our kicker setups. Now we're both in the process of redoing our systems at the same time with similar equipment. Really didn't wanna switch from kicker either but they don't have a in between sub between the l7 and the solo x...too much of a wattage gap. For the power you're running, 4 DC xl 15's would of been perfect. AWESOME build....looking all the way good... Yeah it sucks how Kicker has abandoned the SPL community. I would have loved to kept the subs Kicker, but like you said, they have nothing in between. And w/ 15's they don't offer anything over 1000 RMS. I still don't understand why they never made a Solo X 15... I even thought about trying to find four Solo X 18 motors, and have them built as 15's, (I still think w/ be awesome) but it w be hard to find the motors, since they make and sell the SPAIR re-cones for them. But yeah I will most likely be running (4) DC XL m2 15's, if I can ever get theses Skar's sold. Yeah you should be fine with your setup...just be gain friendly. I know I don't regret the decision to change up my audio. Them Skar 15's might surprise you. What's the wattage on them. They are only 600 rms each, underrated for sure (probably 1000). They are comparable to the CVX, or L7's. Or Sundown SA15's. I can run them if I have to, but like you say, I'd have to keep the gain way down. Plus, they are d4's, so I could wire to 2ohm strapped (instead of .5 all on one amp). But then I'd be holding way back, and we all know that just wouldn't work out well in the long run. So hopefully I can sell these, while they are still new, and get something better. You said you been had the subs, why didnt you get something closer to thier rated power? Lol jealous of those 5ks. I want to run 2 dc 3.5k's on my lvl 4's. They are d1's so 1 ohm per pair. Im thinking a 7.5k might be too much.
