Yeah I had seen someone elsee do it, and was like "oh hell yeah thats what I want."

I did want to run all six runs together, for the looks, but it just wasn't possible unless I ran it all under the car, which I wanted to avoid at all cost.

I love it. Maybe I should do mine. I wanna get my alt and big 3 etc ran!

Do it! You wont regret it man. Just make sure you use the flame ret. for under hood/ under car runs. It is only $5 more per 50ft. Well worth it IMO...

Well, had something come up, and I didn't make it to Pittsburgh today. The plan now is to go up on Thursday.

But in the meantime, I have 100+ pics (only about 50 good ones) uploading now, I'll get them posted asap. Damn Photobucket is slow...

Solo X 15 (v.2) Sub Build

Okay, so first off, I started the front baffle/ loading wall. I bought the last 2 sheets of birch they had. So I will use 1 piece of 3/4" MDF to finish it off (trim beauty panels).
But first is structure and strength. So check it out.

I was hoping to cut this in one piece, however as you can see, that wasn't possible.

So I did the best I could, left it short at the bottom where it will be covered with a trim panel.

100_4393.jpg

Then I cut the opening for the port in the first layer, so it can be transferred to the other layers.

100_4396.jpg

Then after fighting with it for hours, and literally taking everything out, I realized that it was just not going in in one piece. So I cut it down the middle.

And that's as far as I got on the baffle. I'm going to cut the 2nd piece today (3rd layer) and hopefully get started on the ports.
I was going to finish the front batt. bank first, but I changed my mind. I'll do that soon. But I want to get this baffle and ports built so I can get started on the tedious task of body work to the ported section. Gonna make it look pretty! Also, I got something up my sleeve here on this baffle. Should be a nice touch!

In the meantime, I also started another project. I'm collecting Solo X 18 motors to build my own custom subs (Solo XXX 15's). So first I made a few "motor stands" out of scrap wood and a little carpet, then I got the motor and frame split on my first sub. Check it out!

100_4463.jpg

I went ahead and made a few of them.

100_4464.jpg

I'll use the one I messed up a little as the "sub-woofer work bench". It worked out great! Glad I did that.

100_4472.jpg

Now to separate the motor from the basket. This was not easy. 12 bolts total, 4 of them have to be cut out.

Got it!

100_4488.jpg

100_4489.jpg

Then after some TLC, I got her cleaned and ready to be built!

100_4515.jpg

And how about a few comparison pics

100_4526.jpg

Or no comparison pics...

100_4517.jpg

And that's about it, I don't want to clutter this thread with a bunch of pics of sub builds and tear-downs, so I will probably make a separate thread for that, and just show a few pics here. Plus this will be a slow process, as I am supposed to pics up Solo X 18 #2 tomorrow, and I will still need two more. So this will go on the back burner, as I try to get the wall together and finished. At least that is the plan.
Stay tuned, and thanks for lookin'!
