Yellow vs. Gray spider?

Recommended Posts

I was told yellow is stiffer by someone that would know. . .

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

I was told they are the same. However, my Mayhem with yellow spiders moves more than the one with the black spiders. On the same power, in the same box, the yellow pack "excurts" (LOL) more.

No concern here?

Wow. How many times did you tell me there was no difference. They are they same, just a different color.

Not gonna lie, I feel like I got kinda duped. Either they're the same or they're not. No wonder the "yellow" pack sub moved more than the black one. Yellow is NOT stiffer.

I swear to fucking god, why does every company I buy from fuck me over?

I was told they were previously the same stiffness, but the latest yellow being used are stiffer.

I just bought four more mayhem 18"s my concern is that it has a smaller dia spider then my originals mayhems[/quote

Interesting - Same 12 spoke baskets? Not much of a spider landing there for different size spiders.
