Purplehaze
You indicated that a battery isolator wasn't a good idea. Why is that? It limits the charge going to the acc. battery. Only "trickle" charges it. They are not meant for car audio, cause we need all the current we can get. I learned this the hard way a few years ago... herbykw
My wife and I swung in and got to hear this on Saturday. It was also set flat, but it did sound great. Pretty loud and clean. Can't wait to see the finished product! Thanks again Steve for taking the time and showing us around. meade916
New piece of 3/4" Plexi. The opening is only 8" wide x 24...should be plenty. Much better then before. Now i gotta do some trim work around it to make it look good since it will be sticking up past where the original window was. This piece goes over the plexi and inside the first frame....so you won't be able to see any fasteners. meade916
In case you have not figured it out yet, this entire thing will be pieced together with wood, and anything that can't be made of wood will be filled in with fiberglass. The rough parts of the wood will be body filled, sanded, and look delightful when done. I am going to also 45 the sides of the plexi window trim, just not that important right now. Getting it all to go into the car and back out (removable) and still look good is my first priority. Then i will doll up the rest of the stuff that isn't in my way right now. Ran out of blades on my Bosch jigsaw, had to bust out the back up. Some fleece on the sides with a nice stretch should cover that hole nicely. HMMMMMM wait 20 minutes (or more) in between coats/grinding....or wait 1 minute. SMD SunFlash FTW. The fleece was soaked in SunFlash resin...i had gloves on and didn't take pics....but after i did that, i put a layer or 2 of fiberglass over the top. meade916
Once the glass was set up, i busted out the Dynaglass. REMEMBER the sides of the plexi window opening will be 45'd - in case you forgot the first time i said it...im not done yet! This is progress pics, not finished pics. Check back for more progress!
