CleanSierra
I actually like the way that port is rounded over and coming up through the deck. You don't like the way it sounds? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Joe X
I would have made a custom rear deck cover so that any chance of a leak was excluded from there (specially), you have to completely be air tight everywhere or not seal off at all.
boostin302
hmmm i'll seal off around the rear deck and see if that helps any. i'll let you know thanks joe x My build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/143943-2001-mustang-gt-system-rebuild-box-build-pics-updated-61512/ 2001 Ford Mustang GT 4.6 SOHC 380HP 270 amp Mechman alt 2 12" Treo SSX custom built. 6.47 cu ft, tuned to 32Hz 2 hifonics Brutus 2400.1, strapped 1 optima yellow top 1 Kinetic HC1800 14.4v @ 29Hz, 2k RPM over 100ft 1/0 XS flex wire Big 3 in 1/0 100sq ft fatmat deadener 145.3 on music, 142.6 sealed on music Stop being a pussy and wall it off. ric006
they way you have it is fine but something else isnt adding up either your port isnt right or your box and port isnt right but you need to seal the port area off to see the effects
boostin302
thats what i plan on doing this weekend ric006 its port up ( 3 1/2 inchs of the port is outside of the box) and subs foward toward front. sealed off on the sides and on top of the box. from behind the seal off on top is open. here is a pic to show the port seal off setup My build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/143943-2001-mustang-gt-system-rebuild-box-build-pics-updated-61512/ 2001 Ford Mustang GT 4.6 SOHC 380HP 270 amp Mechman alt 2 12" Treo SSX custom built. Joe X
That is not enough since all around the port there is a hole to the trunk airspace and therefore is not sealed, I would make a rear deck cover that fits like a glove the port and then use a sealant all around it.
