Im not quite sure what the difference is but would it be advisable to buy the OFC over the CCA? But in the long run you're better off with OFC because no matter how much you say you won't want to right now, one day you want more power. It's inevitable. Bite the bullet, get OFC, and later on down the road you'll say to yourself how happy you are you don't have to buy more wire. Im guessing there is no real reason to run wiring from under the hood to the back? Only reason i can guess is for the alt. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

reedal Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Yes, either a run from the alt to the back battery or from front battery to back battery. Unless you want to drain the back battery and put low voltage to your amps. No bueno. I'd go with a 50ft spool. You'd have enough for a run front to back for charging the back battery, enough for big three, and enough for back battery ground, and amplifier power/grounds, and still have 15+ft to spare in case you ever need it for whatever reason. And don't forget to fuse within 1ft of each battery connection. Edit: even with stock battery in the trunk you should still run from alt to rear battery at least. stock wiring isn't chosen for full alt output in my opinion, which is a possibility even with a 1700w amp. corona_jeff Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 I had cca in the Honda forever. It lasts about 15mo before it me,to under the hood. In 4 years over replaced t it 3times and cost me a battery. All closed ring terminals. System is small. Just a JL 1000/1
