Differences between full range, 2-way, 3-way, & components speakers?

Whats up guys!

My original plans were to go with some pro audio when I get a new car, but after some thought I decided against chancing some shitty first time door panels with a nicer looking car. So I've started looking into different speakers to replace stock when the time comes.

Is the main difference between full range, full range, 2-way, 3-way, & components speakers just frequency ranges?

Would components be the best quality out of this list? ^^^

I've been looking at the RF T1 series, and focal 3-way's. Also heard Precision Power might have some good stuff?. Just not sure which direction to aim...

budget is still flexible but my goal right now is ~$400 for all 6 speakers

Vehicle will be a 05-07 grand cherokee which has

2x 3.5" in the dash (size limits options here but these are last on the list. maybe modify to fit 2 tweeters?)

6x9's in the front doors

6.5's in the rear doors

06 Jeep Grand Cherokee

2 DC Level4 12"

Soundstream TA1.3000d

4 RF Punch 6.5" Components

2 RF Punch 3.5" 2-ways

I got a 05 did some 3.5 coax in the top

For the 6x9 made adapters for some 6.5 crescendos and a jl tweet

And read doors the same 6.5 and a jl tweet

Powered by a fosgate 800-4ad sounds great just gotta deaden the shit outta the doors

he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:

Yea I'm trying to hold off on putting anything in until I can deaden at least the doors. What brand 3.5's do you have?

I would increase your budget to around $500 to $600 and get a really good set of components and a very nice + 200w per channel amp to power them with and enjoy them for years to come. Most upper end comp sets are capable of taking 150 + watts of power and sounding amazing while still keeping up with sub stages with multiple thousands of watts of power

Ditch the idea for different sizes up front unless you plane on eq the hell out of them, and the eq will also eat into the budget

Just get 1 or more of the same brand and size speaker

If you want to go down the pro way

Tweeters in the factor 3.5" location and a single 8 in the door

But you'll need a good eq to do it

Pp4-t $65x2 $130

Pps4-8 $65x2 $130

P165 $70 or t165 $80

360 $550

T400.4 $250

T400.2 $230

Around 1400 for this set up

V's

T3652 $350

T165 $80

T600.4 $380

And your only at $420 for speakers

And $800 total

And if you wanted something like the the t1675 in front for $180

On the above $630 in total

Another option is to use 6x9 midbass in the front doors and 2" mid/tweeters in the dash locations. They can be run through passive crossovers or active with a DSP.
