Sergeant_Skyrim Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 Finally getting around to upgrading mids and highs (never done anything mids/highs related before) so now I'm at the stage of purchasing them so I just wanna double check and make sure I'm getting this all correct... C1100.4 does 300x4 at 2 ohms and 180x4 at 4 ohms. So I can hook up 2 4-ohm PWX 6.5s at a 2-ohm load on one channel, 2 on another channel, and then have 2 more channels to temporarily run both of my D2 Zcons at 4-ohms for ~180 watts RMS per sub right? Drew a sketchup here: What I'm basically asking: 1. I can assume the PWX 6.5s are single voice coil? So I'd want the 4ohm models, right? 2. I can run each channel at a different ohm load? I've never had experience with this, only used monoblocks so far. 3. When I get a pair of FT1 Supertweets in the future (80RMS a piece) I should go for the 8-ohm model right? Then wire both down to 4 on a single channel? 4. Everything else here looks right? Pretty excited to get this build finally rolling, been in dire need of mids and highs for a while lol Build in progress

BobbyG2 Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 Two ft1s per side would be ridiculously bright with only two pwxs per side. I'd go with one ft1 per two pwxs. It wouldn't matter too terribly which ohm load you go with cause you could always turn the gain down if 4 ohms is too much. *New vehicle and system coming soon.*

Sergeant_Skyrim Posted May 23, 2013 Author Report Posted May 23, 2013 Oh no, I meant just 1 pair of FT1s haha. 4 Total PWX 6.5s for now, with 2 total FT1s in the future. And I'm in the process of walling off my Cavalier within the next month or so. Both 12" Zcons will be behind the front 2 seats with all of the 6.5s and tweets in the top area of the wall with a possible 4 more 6.5s up there in the future depending on how loud this all gets Build in progress

If i understand your post, Yes it will work Yeah, I'm working in a 2003 Chevy Cavalier where it's damn near impossible to do anything in it room-wise. Box for both Zcons wouldn't fit in the trunk without having to build it inside the trunk, but then I've got the extra battery(s) and amp (DC 9k coming soon) to fit somewhere in the car as well. In addition to adding 2 more 12s in the future all wired down to 1 ohm...figured why not! Big plans for the future assuming I haven't changed my mind by then haha Build in progress

Go from the front, threw where rear seats go, you may need to do some trimming but you can easilly fot 6 cubes. I fit 7.5 cubes into a 1995 grandam And a little bigger into a 1994 cavalier 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole
