Looking good, I just noticed one mistake you made. Only having the machine shop cut out the parts for 1 motor. Should of done 2 right away, this way if its a winner, you can then build the second one right away, and then the machining costs wouldnt be no where near as expensive compared to having 1 done at a time.

Either way get to work and finish this!

Why would it be less expensive? The shipping itself wasn't bad. It was the parts themselves. Do you have the hookup on a shop somewhere?

Fucking love Alan you goddamned fucking super nerd lol

When Alan uses big words I don't understand

It's warming up enough that the donut-punching cyclist douchenozzles are getting their two wheeled fagmobiles out.

Everytime I see a guy driving a mini cooper I cant help but think he loves cock & (2/29/16)-My wife just bitched at me about throwing out things we don't really use. My response of well we don't really use your vagina so should we throw that out was evidently not the right response. I had to leave the room.

I missed Alan.

RIP 5/29/15 - I love you son.

IIMMMM BBACCKKK..... AND I'VE DONE IT, THE MAGNETS ARE ALL IN! Finally yeah? It only took me like an hour to get the last magnets pole off the one is snapped to, then I went to home depot, got another wood clamp, a mallet, and a strap ratchet clamp thing, put the plastic tube in place and clamped it and strapped it down, then I dropped the magnet in but the difficult part is getting it down and holding it down because it kept being forced back upwards so I had to hit it with a mallet and have my friend push down all his weight on it, but finally it went on. My steel plates are already starting to oxidize, so I got some rust remover, and I might have to paint the plates with some primer to prevent rust, even though I like the look all steel/bare metal. The motor as it sits is exactly 35.5lbs, with the top plate it should be around 42lbs.

Looks good so far, nice job dude.

One suggestion for your oxidizing problem is to spray it with clear coat instead of primer, if you want to keep the look of the metal..

Also, I fear one day you will wish you had used glue. But maybe not. Idk... just a thought. It's not too late.

Either way, your getting close now, gotta be getting anxious as hell to see it finished!

Also, I got my Solo X together, if you get a chance, check it out!

It's no neo, but it is pretty beastly ;)

Not that can do steel :(

But pricing "labor and machining wise" always seems to be cheaper.

Guess maybe I shoulld say like some companies that sell product, parts express for example, buy 1 tweeter at a time they are $10 each. Buy 2-4 tweeters at once they are $7 each. Buy 5+ tweeters they are $4 each.

So if you wanted to have a 2nd one machined, you will most likely be looking at the same price again, since they got to change over their machine and get it resetup to do your part(s), where as before if you had 2 made at once they would just have to load the material in and start the program over.

Ah, well I think the way this place works is they have sheets cut to certain thicknesses already, because they ask for the margin of acceptable error and I had to change mine because they didn't have my thicknesses without doubling the cost. I tried ordering 2 identical plates but they were the same price, so I had to trim the top plate a bunch. They don't seem to be huge on bundle % deals.

Worked on the more precise hand drawing I could possibly do for about 4 hours today. I learned that my over-all gap, not including the VC is about 0.35cm, and with the VC I have less than 0.1cm clearance on either side. So BL should really be up there. And getting the top plate on with such a small amount of room will be so fun.

So here's some pic updates...

The bottom ring part of the pic below shows you about how large the gap is.

Mmmmph, dat clearance.

And I'm heading out to my bosses house to use the drill press to get the top plate done.
