Looking bad ass man! Love the door pods! I started the same process yesterday then realized the res of my panels look like crap so scrapped the mold and will be pulling all the vinyl off the panel to start fresh. I am learning from your mistakes though, so keep up the good work!

Thanks bro!! I'm glad I can help... that was my sole purpose in showing my mistakes because a lot of videos and tutorials only show the "good side"... So for people who are just getting into this like me, I was hoping it would help!! Thanks for checking out my build!!

Alright so a little update on today's progress... First off, I would like to say, this resin I'm using is LEGIT!!!! Today has rain on the forecast and throughout the day it has been nothing but over cast... I decided to go ahead and lay down the glass today anyways an was just going to let them sit in my patio closet until the next sunny day... Well after I finished the first pod, I let it sit on my "work bench" (old sub enclosure lol) while I worked on the other pod... sure 'nuff, the pod was cured!!! (even with the overcast) So today I got busy throwing a couple layers of glass on and some trimming.... I was only able to completely trim one pod because I need to pick up more sanding strips for my dremel, but here's how everything turned out

in this picture, you can see there's no sun!! But it cured anyways

Looking a little nasty.. but we're gonna address that!!

Here's a closeup!! as you can see, I was able to get the chop mat on SUPER smooth, which means less body work needed!!! (esp since I'm vinyl wrapping them)... I will be sanding the fiberglass with 220 to smoothen it out and just body fill the pits! I'm not about to make this harder then it is... I took my time applying resin and cutting the chop mat to size so it isn't any lifts, all areas are level from cutting them to size and shape and it paid off!! No need for extensive body work!!

Here's a quick pic I took... It is just put into place for the picture, not fully mounted, so it will flow smoother with the body lines and it'll be about a 1/4" less in height..

Coming out great so far!! Almost there!!!

Lol Don't be bro!! Its a learning experience .. your doors will come out great.. I was looking at them and it would be best to make full custom doors.. the body lines on it isn't too crazy which is perfect for design!! (since you can create your own body lines)
