box design pleasssseee.

Recommended Posts

Looking for a box design, the sub is a DC level 3 15 with all the level 4 upgrades. My max external dems are 18Hx41Wx14.5D. Looking for a Vb of 3cuft and a Fb of 30hz. I'm a noob with box designs so I need some help. The vehicle is a 03 f250 crew cab, and its being powered by a brz2100 at 2 ohms.

Here is a suggestion:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 34 Hz
Vb = 3.5 ft^3

External Height = 18 in
External Width = 41 in
External Depth = 14.5 in

Port Width = 4 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.
* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Front & Back (3 parts) = 41 x 18

Left & Right Sides =
Side 1 = 16 1/2 x 12 1/4
Side 2 = 17 1/4 x 12 1/4

Top = 36 1/4 x 12 1/4

Bottom = 41 x 12 1/4

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

Top to Bottom = 12 1/2 x 12 1/4
Extension = 6 13/16 x 12 1/4

Assembly guide (generic dimensions):

Important notes:

- The 45s if you want to do them are 2 1/2" wide except the one/ones inside the port, if you want that let me know.

- All boxes built outside the vehicle need to fit in their way in not just have the right dimensions.

- The port needs 4" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.

- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested.

So this design is 3.5 cuft and tuned to 34hz? I was looking for a box that was 3.0~cuft and tuned to 30hz.

In my opinion 30 hz is gonna sound sluggish

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do that
I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

oh lawd.

What would you suggest. Already have a box That's 3.5 cuft at 35hz and it doesn't play the lows how I would want it to.

You know for a fact that the specs are right?, can you give dimensions of the box and port?, if necessary I can change it, no problem.

It should be right, I got the box design from you awhile back, let me see if I can find the cut sheet you made me for it. The max dems I posted is the size of the box I have right now and the port is 3.5 inches wide by 15.5 inches tall.
