why is my dual 2 subwoofer showing 3 ohm?

1.5 Ohms DC resistance is 2 Ohms nominal. Your sub will have a higher resistance while playing that's why they design it to be a little lower when not under power.

3 ohms is fine. You are measuring the DC resistance of the coil wire.

Impedance is the AC resistance of the coil when AC is applied.

Nothing wrong with it.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

Dont forget about DMM bias. Ive seen some that would read .5 ohm when you touch the leads together.
